FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEHope Street Kids awarded an impressive $420,000 in grants and fellowships in support of pediatric cancer research this July.
his inaugural grants and fellowship application round was extremely competitive, and HSK received 22 outstanding proposals.
Washington DC, December 05, 2001 — The Hope Street Kid's distinguished Scientific Advisory Council has identified eight innovative projects from academic medical centers throughout the country, and plans to award four one-year grants and four two-year fellowships. These eight funded projects are of the highest caliber research in childhood cancer. Also included in one of the eight funded projects is a grant to provide support for children with cancer, helping them cope with schooling, the trauma of treatment and lasting effects that result from therapy.
