FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEEmmy-winner Mariette Hartley hosts another episode of "Healthy Solutions".
Now in its fifth season, the program explores the most important issues and topics related to America's health and well being.
Boca Raton, FL, May 02, 2001 — The upcoming episode includes a special report entitled, The Fight Against Childhood Cancer, which offers helpful resources for dealing with pediatric cancer - announced Jim Wilhelm, Co-Executive Producer of the series.
According to recent estimates, more than 12,000 children will be diagnosed with cancer this year and more than 3000 will die from it. There are many challenges that lie ahead in the war on pediatric cancer. Unfortunately, progress has been slow. Recently, U.S. Congresswoman Deborah Pryce and her husband Randy Walker decided it was time to change all that through their HopeStreetKids organization. In this report, we explore how their efforts are helping to eliminate childhood cancer through education and research.
"Despite all of our medical advances and technology, real change in the world of healthcare can sometimes seem painfully slow, especially when children are involved," said Ron Godfrey, Executive Producer of the series. "Hope Street Kids is helping to translate the latest scientific breakthroughs into effective treatment programs and focusing on ways to improve the quality of life for all children everywhere."
In addition to national broadcast on "Healthy Solutions," "The Fight Against Childhood Cancer," will be reformatted and distributed via satellite as a Video News Release to over 750 domestic television stations. Like all of TVI's productions, the story is available for viewing on the Internet.
